Flying by

It's hard to believe that I'm already 18 weeks along. Almost "half baked". The time is truly flying by, i have these wonderful holidays to thank for that. It seems like I blink, and its already time to take another weekly photo!

I haven't updated since my last appointment almost 2.5weeks ago. The appointment went wonderful. My blood pressure is perfect, I've gained 6lbs which according to the doctor is great (i feel like I've gained 15!), and we found the babies heart beat on the first try :) That truly brings a HUGE smile to this mommas face! Along with the appointment, i got my flu shot and had my second trimester screening done. I received those results today, and we are negative, and considered low risk for Trisomy and Down Syndrome. What a relief that was. I was also able to book my "BIG" ultrasound, which takes place next Wednesday, December 19th. Although we have the appointment, we will not know the gender of the baby until the 21st when we have family and friends over for our Gender Reveal Party. We will have the Ultrasound tech check boy or girl on a piece of paper, and we will take that to our local bakery where they will make a cake, a cake that will have either blue, or pink filling. Next Friday can't come soon enough. Once we know the sex, crib purchasing will take place. We have a few that we really like right now, but knowing the gender will help us pick.

To leave this post, i'm adding in my 17 and 18 week boards. It's really nice having a talented husband who can make my chalk board look amazing each week!

Weekly Pictures

Somewhere between week 15-16 i think i officially "popped". I went from looking like i ate to many cookies, to actually looking pregnant. It's exciting! I've also noticed that my one pair of pants that still fit, aren't fitting that well. I have to unbutton them when sitting down for dinner, and by the end of the meal, the zipper has been pushed down too! I broke down and bought a pair of maternity jeans from Kohls. I ordered them the other day and they should be here soon, and i sure hope they fit.

In other news, i have a goal to take a weekly picture, in front of my decorated chalk board. Robbie has been nice enough to take the picture each week, and even decorated the 16week board, and it looks great!!! I'll be wearing the same shirt in each picture so i can watch my belly grow and my shirt shrink all at the same time :) Tomorrow I have a 16week check up, i'll be 16weeks4days then. Hopefully all is well and I will be able to book our "BIG" ultrasound then too. The "BIG" ultrasound is the anatomy scan and gender detector! This appointment should be before Christmas, and i cant wait!! I have a feeling it's going to be a boy! To end this post, im adding my 15 and 16 week pictures. Enjoy!

I'm Pregnant

...Was exactly what I told Robbie when I found out the news. Realizing that i was finally pregnant was the best news I could have ever received. The impending wait time to see the doctor was less then exciting, but was only going to have to wait a few short days, which seemed like forever in my book. We had our first ultrasound at 5weeks4 days. To say there was something to look at would be an exaggeration. It was a spot on the screen. That's all, a spot. Not even a heart beat at this point, to early into the pregnancy to pick it up. Not that it mattered that it was only a spot, i was pregnant, and that's what counted. Excited to show my mom the ultrasound picture, I drove to her house and asked her if she wanted to see my "Spot"? My mom knew i was pregnant, but seeing the ultra sound made it more real. The name Spot has since stuck, and thats what we call the baby now. Here is Spots first picture :)

Again with the waiting game. 2 weeks and 2 days later we went back to the doctor to check for a heart beat. I was beyond nervous. I had zero pregnancy symptoms besides being hungry. No morning sickness, no nausea, not tired, my breast didn't hurt, and the list goes on. Everything seemed normal to me. I told the doctor that i was a nervous wreck, and was about to cry. Thankfully we go right down to business and started the ultra sound. The first thing the doctor said was "I'm finding a heart beat". Que instant tears now. Here is spots picture at 7weeks6days. a little bigger, but still not looking like a baby

Next appointment was at 9weeks4days, just to double check things and to get a more accurate due date. We finally have what appears to be a baby. Not just a spot any more!

At this appointment we scheduled my NT scan for Halloween, 12w4days. Robbie and i wanted to announce on Halloween with some cute shirts that we bought online. We wanted one more official check before we were comfortable spreading the new with the rest of our family and friends. Here are two more pictures :) I will try to blog more frequently to keep family and friends up to date with appointments, pictures and all that jazz. Our next appointment is scheduled for November 28th. Praying for more good news.
